Eichmann Bullet Plugs
The Eichmann ‘Bullet Plug’ was where we (and Eichmann) started – it’s different enough from the standard audio jewellery to be called an ‘invention‘ although just between you and us it’s a return to the basic principles of how to make things work and sound better.
Slinkylinks interconnects are notable for their use of the new Eichmann Bullet plugs – the design of these is absolutely consistent with the Slinkylinks ethos – less metal and glitz, more lateral thinking and listening. Now you can upgrade the performance of your chosen interconnects. In our own system at home we have replaced the standard metal RCA plugs on the end of the arm lead from our Linn Sondek turntable with Bullet Plugs and can report that they offer an immediate and worthwhile improvement in all areas – not bad for less than NZ$ 45 and 15 minutes – they have to be the easiest RCA plug to fit (even a novice with the soldering iron can do a good job if they read the instructions).
Why not investigate Bullet plugs further and then try a set or two for yourself on some existing cables? You won’t know until you try but if they work half as well as they did for us you’ll be back for more. They are especially good for old Monster and Kimber cables. Bottom line is that they work brilliantly and cost next to nothing. Why wouldn’t you try them?
‘I’ve been robbed! Robbed blind of half my sound, that is, until I fitted Eichmann Bullet plugs. What a difference! After fitting the plugs (to my LP12) at around 6pm on Saturday, I thought, “wow, what a difference – I’ve just play a few records then...” Half an hour later, I looked at my watch: it was past midnight and I had forgotten to eat. You don’t get much more involved than that! I can hear Karen Carpenter’s mouth-noises before she sings a line, I can hear even more madness in Bjork and Kate Bush, more genius in Bacharach, I can hear Ringo’s fingers on the tambourine skin, I can hear the strings vibrating fully on double-bass necks, plectrum dynamics on guitars...’ DB – Auckland
‘Some older cables that are no longer current, or have been replaced by newer designs, enter into their second life and offer sound quality that you never imagined!’ Hi-Fi & Records – Germany
‘In 100 percent of the cases, the Bullet Plug sounded cleaner, with an enhanced stability, and a more full and three dimensional sound.’ HiFi & Music – Sweden
‘The Bullet Plug has, overnight, leapfrogged the performance available from existing phono plugs the benefits are huge, HUGE!‘ Hi-Fi Plus – U.K.
Now we take the next step – the new Silver Bullet Plugs offer true state of the art performance. Did you know that almost all RCA plugs are made of brass and its conductivity is only 28% IACS? (That’s the International Annealed Copper Standard.) Gold plate them, make them big and expensively packaged but like it or not the RCA plugs on your present cables may well be costing you more than you paid for. Silver Bullets are undeniably high end – 99.99% pure silver – no plating at all with the unique single point earth contact and absolutely secure fit of the polymer collar. A serious upgrade for owners of already high performing cable – for instance the Kimber AG series – or for the committed independent designer.
