Elipsa is what occurs when intense passion becomes reality. Passion drives Sonus faber to borrow the technological innovation and musical performance achieved by speakers in their Homage collection. In particular the Stradivari loans its unique cabinet form and driver technology to the Cremona line, and makes their benefits available to a larger audience. The elliptic design of the cabinet results in an extraordinarily wide deep soundstage, with players taking on solid, three-dimensional form. The unique Elipsa midrange, developed in collaboration with their Scandinavian partners exclusively for Sonus faber is fitted with a wood fiber cone. The many benefits of these drivers combine with a crossover network that once again mirrors the conviction regarding physiological design that delivers a sound both sweet and starkly transparent. In a word: natural.

Cremona M NZ$ 17,000

Cremona M, (M = modified) is a floorstanding loudspeaker that builds forward the recognized technological value of Elipsa in order to achieve new levels of performance in sound reproduction. State of the art components – with particular reference to the midrange made of wood fiber – combined with a cross-over network that remains faithful to the principle of maximum simplicity, allows this loudspeaker to express itself with great speed, transparency, naturalness and with control of low frequencies. This allows it to be installed in small rooms as well as large. An unquestionable timbric balance places Cremona M to the top levels of music reproduction.

Auditor Elipsa NZ$ 8,000

New and completely original, Auditor Elipsa springs from the need to provide the Cremona line with a compact loudspeaker, specifically designed for convenient wall mounting or placement in a bookcase. Auditor Elipsa is a loudspeaker designed for music lovers who wish to fully enjoy Sonus faber quality while retaining maximum positioning versatility.

System Matching – The Cremona range

The abilities of the Cremona range demand similarly capable electronics. A high quality source, either analogue or digital will deliver the detail and information required - your choices are wide and it may well be you have already made a commitment in this area. Nevertheless, working your way through our analogue options pages, and considering both Audio Analogue and Meridian as CD players would be well worth your while.

The Cremona range will highlight the relative differences in amplifier performance. The Auditors are quite benign in their properties and amplifiers from the Perreaux Silhouette range, Audio Analogue and Quad will all work well. The Floor standing Cremona and Elipsa models really do warrant serious power and control however. The Audio Analogue Maestro would be a minimum requirement and the larger Perreaux Models have proven their worth. Do remember however that the Cremona floor stander is actually suitible for smaller rooms and with its high efficiency, you’ll be able to easily balance quality against power rating allowing the possibility of a complete system for less than you might think.
